Why Ohio of all places?

Because it's obviously the most modern place in the US. Lol.

If the spoiler'd pokedex is correct, then it means that there's only 40+ new pokemon in X and Y? Unless there's post-game pokemon, I'm seriously worried about the number of new pokemon.

A link to the full Kalos dex. I counted, there's only around 40 new pokemon, excluding mega-evolutions.

There's three different pokedexes, so that would mean there is 120 new pokemon. Doesn't sound good from that point of view but going on past pokemon games all of the previous pokemon are included.

The game isn't out yet for the public; those are only confirmed Pokémon.

There are approximately 70 total new Pokemon

Why Ohio of all places?

Because it's the only data they have, only people from Virginia and Ohio have (allegedly) shared what their Vivillion looks like

Current data:

Also, shiny Vivillion does not change the wing pattern in any way unfortunately, the body simply turns white

Why Maine? Why not Alaska?

Why Maine? Why not Alaska?

maybe it will include alaska in a later date. It is still much too early to determine everything.

a shiny Vivillion would be so awesome

Yeah, I guess...

Why Maine? Why not Alaska?

Again;

Because it's the only data they have

The number of people that A) got the game early and B) are sharing what form of Vivillion they got in which region is a very small group

That being said, two more patterns have since been discovered

"Squall" Pattern from Hong Kong

and Sandstorm Pattern from an unknown region, rumor is somewhere in the middle east
