would buying a 2DS and X/Y be worth it if that's the only game I'll ever play on it? would go for a 3DS but it doesn't make sense to pay an extra $40 for eye-straining 3D and .. hinges.

2DS has the same size screens as the regular 3DS, so as long as you don't mind not having the XL for big fancy screens..

That's your choice

I'm not sure a single game is worth $170 but you might find some other 3DS titles you like now or in the future, plus if another Pokemon game is released before the next generation of handhelds comes out it'll be on 3DS as well

decided to go with a 3DS XL
and what an amazing choice. got the limited edition Pokemon X 3DS XL.

now i need to decide whether im getting the game tonight
or tomorrow
