I'm confused as well. What you do is you put your DS game of choice and stick it into your 3DS. Then you use POKETRANSFER to put it into your bank. Then, you eject your DS game of choice then insert your X AND Y GAME. Finally, you use POKEBANK to take them out of the bank and into the X AND Y GAME. I hope this information isn't what you lack, otherwise perhaps you should have done some reading up around the topic and the like.

What function requires this? I'm certain that when you use Poketransfer for your, let's say White to Y, it uses the 3DS wi-fi to move it to the PokeBank Storage, am I mistaken?

You'd be correct, I'm pretty sure you don't even need to start the game.

Both do not use the DS wi-fi servers; the 3DS reads the data off the cart and uploads it to Pokemon Bank using the 3DS wi-fi server

while I was on vacation I finally got off my ass and played Pokémon Y and HOLY stuff THIS IS LITERALLY EVERYTHING I WANTED IN A POKEMON GAME
the 3d models on everything is just soooo good and im in love with this game now
and mega-evolution is really awesome too
currently I just finished the Psychic gym and am in Lumoise city

My team is around Level 55-60 and consists of:
Delphox
Lucario
Talonflame (and I named it flatflyer what do you expect from me)
Snorlax
Simipour
Venusaur

I know its not an amazing team but I tried to go for a team that had a large amount of the type variation so I can have at least something to counter every other type
although I wish I kept my delphox as a Braixen because that was my favourite evolution of fennekin because its both cute and badass at the same time
also I wish my fennekin was female because I mean seriously fennekin and its evolutions all look female
same for Simipour which is also male :|

also this gem of music is so unnoticed due to the fact it only plays during one battle that literally lasts about 10 seconds

The numbers are currently around 85 million
