Soul Silver, in the wild, found a Shiny Rattata, caught it
It might still be in there, I'm not sure though

i've caught a xerneas, zygarde and mewtwo in X.
then wondertraded a junkass lv1 honedge for an Yveltal and later a lv100 monferno for a Kyurem.

i think everyone who has ever played pokemon has caught at least 1 legendary.

Up until this generation my only shinies were an Anorith I got from repeatedly reviving fossils from the Underground and a wild Deerling in White (not counting the Tentacruel that was on the Diamond cart I bought from a friend), and that's from 16 years of Pokemon

I don't even mean that as a bragging thing either, the only ones that are even remotely difficult are the roamers and as long as you have something with Mean Look (and I rarely find myself not having a Golbat/Crobat when it's possible) you're set
