A lot of younger people might not have permission from their parents to join a forum, yet they my have permission to view one. This is how it was for me when I was younger. It would be unfair to the younger/ more restricted users of blockland to have to join to download things. Also, if all those people did join, how many do you think wouldn't just spam the forums forever. Not only would this make the forums less enjoyable, but badspot would have to pay more attention to the forums, and less attention to programming blockland.
