Erinaum receives a tip that there is an "untapped" spring of water of and underground river that could allow Erinaum to give supple amounts of clean water to all the citizens of Erinaum as well as to those in its territories.  However, the tip proved false.  An odd black liquid bubbles from the ground at first, then bursts from the earth at an extremely high pressure, causing this liquid to shoot half a kilometer into the air.  The newly made well is capped off and the liquid is now under research.

Avalonia scraps its "moon zeppelin" project after yet another failure to reach the moon. The project is not expected to be restarted.

Avalonia launches a prototype submarine. Great success so far, although it is still in its prototype stages, the submarine shows great potential. A half-submarine also exists in a more developed stage, a steel plated, double hulled, craft that lies low in the water and resembles a hydrodynamic barge.

The Avalonian Council releases a proclamation: All religions are permitted to practice and preach within the confines of the Avalonian Union, so long as they do not give sermons, speeches, &c that condem another religion or it's members in a public place. Such speeches are allowed to be given to religious assemblies that are inside a structure that those on the outside may not overhear the speech. Borders remain open to missionaries. The First Citizen may not hold any office of religious power or be controlled by one in an office of religious power, the same applying to the Supreme Emperor and members of the Avalonian Council.

The liquid, simply named Oil, is found to be flammable and able to be separated into several parts and many different consistencies.  There may be a great potential for this new "Oil."

Update/NoEdit:
Erinamese Scientists have found that gasoline, a product created from Oil (Now given the name, "Petroleum") has greater burn efficiency that alchoholic jellies.  Petrolium begins to rise in price and the government begins to tap these hills where the oil was found.  This area is known as Ȩüñov ¿éré¡, and in English, Rusty Desert.

Erinaum is currently working on an engineering project of epic proportions.

Avalonia has long known of the existence and some properties of oil; some of Avalonia's oldest buildings used bitumen mortar, and oil has been used to lubricate machinery for decades. The Avalonian government begins tapping its own wells.

Avalonia releases the existence of matches to the public after decades of governmental use in rockets. Matches quickly replace tinder and flint in Avalonia.

Avalonia's prototype submarine has been battle tested as a transport vehicle, and a larger model with armaments is being devised.

Avalonia puts its military to use by securing a few more far side islands rumored to have oil wells used by the natives for religious purposes. A couple wells are captured.

Also, though I'm not interested in reforming Avalonia's government, I'm curious to know how your representative socialism works.

So now that I am an independent nation again, my first order of business is to get back o track with the current events.  Can someone (SWAT or Plethora) fill me in on all our social, cultural, and technological advancements since we were throwing sticks at each other?
