Yo dawg.  I had trade relations with Nilhon...  What gives man?...
Mik started a new nation, essentially saying he was abandoning Nilhon, and I wanted land. It's just like your annexation of Slainte only I'm making my army earn its keep while doing it. If you're worried about trade, Avalonia will continue to trade Nilhonese goods to Erinaum at a lower rate than a comparatively small nation such as Nilhon could while still maintaining a profit.

The capitol of Nilhon has fallen, and a new Avalonian city is being built on its ruins.

Avalonian scientists begin to conduct experiments utilizing lightningfor various purposes from curing the sick and raising the dead, to enhancing the strength of cannons. Few casualties so far.

Well.  I don't think we should bother Nasoa unless he locks he topic.  If he does, start the stuffstorm.

Would he do anything except lock the topic (or ignore us) if we bothered him? He wasn't very responsive to requests to update the map.

Erinaum will not begin to teach the New Caprican district unless they chose a government...

Sorry, I've been really busy these last few days...I'll think of an acceptable government soon.

Avalonia begins the conquest of many of the islands and archipelagos of the far side. This serves the purpose of land gain, as well as the double purpose of securing the loyalty of many far side tribes, and strengthening that of many already under Avalonian rule.

Note: Avalonia's conquest of Raesl included not only that mapped in the OP, but the entire continent that Mik took over a bit back.

Avalonia begins construction of a great road into its Raesl territories, and begins extending the great cbrown town to reach the Raesl territories, as well as widening the cutoff which allows Avalonian ships to pass through the continent. Avalonia also begins fortifying Raesl's coastal cities and ports.

Raeisl was a complete religious nation with no army whatsoever

Military

Katana Samurai
units: 2500

Katana Samurai are an elite heavy infantry unit. They form part of the main line in battle charging forward to engage the enemy in close combat.

Naginata Samurai
units: 2000

The Naginata is a long staff with a curved blade. These men excel in forming pike-lines to protect bowmen against infantry and cavalry charges. They also have the ability to fight swordmen from a longer range, making them less vulnerable.

Bow Samurai
units: 5000

It's as simple as it sounds, excellent bowmen that are also trained with swords. They are the backbone of any Nihonian army.

Kisho Ninja
units: 30

Kisho Ninja have mastered the art of invisibility, making them highly effective assassins who possess terrifying supernatural abilities. Their skills are actually the product of a lifetime extensive training, cunning, and the clever use of misdirection.

I apologize if I misunderstood Nilhon's op. If that became obsolete, then the Avalonian takeover was an unopposed advance ending with no bloodshed and with payment for the land.

Avalonia, what kind of government are you anyway?  Could you please explain it?

The Avalonian Council made up of Avalonia's intellectual elite choose the Supreme Emperor from within the Royal Family based on the capabilities of the existing or former Emperor's sons, the Roayl Family are the descendants from Hador I who founded Avalonia, rendering them of sufficient merit and honor to rule. The Avalonian Council and Supreme Emperor handle military, political, and economic affairs. The citizens of Avalonia elect a First Citizen who acts as emissary between the people and the Council and Supreme Emperor (council and family grouped together here), the first citizen is also given funding by the Council to deal with social issues within Avalonia (such as the high infant mortality rate mentioned a few posts ago).

Meritocracy, you get what you earn. Mixed slightly with Oligarchy, a few people rule. The only part of my government which is frowned on irl today is a royal family, but, as the Supreme Emperor is chosen by Avalonia's best and brightest from within that sphere, the fundamental strength of a meritocracy remains concrete.

Avalonia experiences a few small earthquakes, few casualties and minimal structural damage.

Okay I think we'll go with a constitutional republic...Only if Erinaum is okay with it

PM me about the structuring of it.  Erinaum is a 5-branch Representative Socialism, so our systems may be similar.

Okay, give me a little bit...

Government type approved.  First term starts.

Erinaum introduces a new line of rifles created from a new cross-innovation of interchangeable parts and mass production assembly line.  Cost is reduced by 80%.  Steam engines start using this industry, and costs are cut by 90%!
