I literally put a capsule on top of a rocket and sent it up to the ice moon.  It's really shocking the man even made it to the moon.

Can we agree that we should stake claims on the moons, not just claim the ENTIRE moon?  That would be just too unfair.

Too late, I was there first!

Erinaum lands two lunar modules on the surface of the ice moon.  Samples of the surface are brought back and are found to be mostly Silicon and Calcium-based compounds.  Pools of ice are found to be not completely frozen solid.  Using a sonar, Erinamese Kozmonauts have found that the iced areas are actually frozen oceans.  The ice layer is about 6 meters thick at latitude N30 and S20, since the moon has its own axis and rotation.  Near the Equator, the ice is only 2 meters thick.

The axis rotation and seasonal chance has indicated that the glacial lunar year is equal to 86.2 Anagaea days.  A glacial lunar day is equal to about 5.9 Anagaea days.  There is no sign of life yet to be found on the planet.  The atmospheric pressure is 0.6 atm and consists of:
54% O2
36% N2
6%   CO2
4%   O3

The gravity is about 0.4 times Anagaea's gravity.

Erinaum plants a flag 1384 miles away from the Aemilian flag.

The above information is shared to the other governments.

Here's a nice little planet generator I made forever ago and wanted somebody to actually use. It's also good for keeping things like this at some slight shred of a realistic level and it generates graphics as well.

Thanks man.  I'll look into it.  As of now though.  All we need is the originals for Anagaea and MAYBE the glacial moon.

Oh uh I guess we can like shoot rockets too yeah

This aggression shall not stand!  I send a rover to knock over your flag I staked a full claim on that moon.  I was their first.  Besides, I needed more space (Get it, space?  It's the space race?  Space anyone?). You may however stay, if you pay a certain sum of money annually.  The worth of your territory is in the meanwhile being debated, and right now the sum is not looking to large.

How big is your stake?  Because previously I owned the entire moon.  We have almost completed a really boring topographical map.  The poles are the most mountainous areas, for the record.

I disagree. First come first serve, and I came before it was even possible. Anyone on the lava moon is trespassing. That said, Avalonia puts its first manned satellite into orbit around the lava moon. It's equipped with a machine gun that uses chemicals instead of gunpowder to propell bullets which do not require oxygen to ignight, just the chemicals replacing the gunpowder.

America does not own the moon, yet is has its flag planted on it.  No one owns Antarctica; it is equally shared as a research colony for all countries worldwide.  Why can't it be the same with this?

I have no problem with you all divvying up the ice moon. But I've had a "Standing and official land claim on the lava moon." since moon balloons. No different than my owning any other piece of land, only the moon is in space and not easily habitable.

America has some claim to the moon I'd say. They just haven't got the money or the want to do anything with it. As far as Antarctica, there's oil under there people want, which is why it's been doled out, and if say, Holland, put their flag there a couple hundred years ago, nobody took it from them, and they never abandoned it, the Dutch would own Antarctica the same way America owns any one of its states. Avalonia's ownership of the lava moon is no different.

-snip-
Well I'd like a claim, not an unreasonably massive portion, just a claim of decent size.  It just doesn't seem fair to claim the entire moon and simply gain access to all the potential resources there.

Swat, would you just give up part of Erinaum to a nation you broke ties with on semi hostile grounds?
I'd say the age of my claim exempts me from sharing the moon.

Are we going to draft some kind of space treaty dictating ownership of all future celestial claims or what? I don't want to go through this every time we come across a new planet, asteroid, or moon, and I find it doubtful you do either.

All we need is the originals for Anagaea and MAYBE the glacial moon.
Dang the originals would be useful. If I ever start one of these remind me to put the original maps on the OP or something at least.

I am trying to prevent god-modding.  Is that a problem?  Once someone claims complete dominance over a moon or planet, then they can claim anything they want, even that the whole thing is solid gold, but no other nations on that planet would mean that their credibility cannot be put into question, no matter how absurd.

I understand your concerns, but I'm under the impression that you can do more than enough hackling to prevent any serious infractions on realisticness. I know from experience.
