Author Topic: I got a %171.4 on my robotics final.  (Read 4150 times)

Yep.

I got a 171.4 percent.
Basically, the test was pretty hard for 9th grade - it included trigonometry functions and torque calculations, and other things of the like.
So my teacher curved the grade based on the average overall grade in the class, which was a 75%.
SOOO many people got, like, 0's or 2's, that the few people who actually got respectable scores like myself, got boosted way higher.
forget yes. This brought me back up to an A in robotics. I'm back to straight A's forget yeah.

By the way, the first number is how many points the test was out of. The second number is how many points I got. :3

Did you build an optimus prime?

What the forget.
Your school mustn't give math.
Percent.
PER CENT.
Cent = French for hundred
Amount per hundred.
171 isn't a valid amount per hundred because the maximum is one hundred.

Yeah, that's why it is 171%. Meaning it is more than one hundred percent. Basic math.

lol wat

anyways, imo thats a bad curve, shouldnt be possible for anyone to score that high. but whatever, good for you :D

You can't have more then 100%.
3 questions:
1 is A
2 is B
3 is C
You have 3 of those right.
You score the maximum of 100%.

The only time it grows over 100% is with non-solid increases such as your gas price.
You can't score 50/10 for a test.

forget year
No it was actually a pretty standard test. Answering questions and such. I had to find the center of gravity of things, calculate torque of arms and stuff, and do other stuff like calculate pressure of pneumatics.

Hacker.
i hax ur tsests

you can have more than a hundred per hundred. the ratio just goes higher than 100:100.

yeah see there are so many people in my classes that failed, so the curve dropped way down, resulting in me getting the highest test grade in my class. it's kinda unfair but forget that, I'm not gonna question an A in his class haha

it's an improper fraction, but it's still a ratio nonetheless
I had 171.4:100
for every hundred possible points I got 171.4
