Author Topic: Player Images (Status: OFFLINE)  (Read 4277 times)

I provide high-quality transparent, clean images of in-game Blockland avatars. If you want one, join my server ("Port's Server") and wait for me to be ready to take an image of you which I will then later edit. This is provided entirely free of charge to anyone.

An example:

People who have recieved service so far:
  • LeetZero
  • Clone v.117
  • Fob
  • Ultimadune
  • legomanjoshua
  • Mr.LoL
  • Jamster
  • Danny Boy
  • Wutterzoid
  • jes00
  • Uxie
  • Mr.?

How to make one yourself:
Good idea, since the process is actually very simple.

  • Inspect the object to be pictured, find a color that does not occur in it. Opposites work best.
  • Create a glowing wall of empty prints behind the object that should be pictured.
  • Take a picture, making sure that the object does not extend beyond the wall in perspective.
  • Open the screenshot in Paint.NET or some other image editing program (nope, not Paint).
  • Select the background wall with Magic Wand (or whatever that tool is named in the program).
  • Press delete, optionally crop some of the empty area away, and done.

You can reduce pixel edges by increasing your settings in game I believe.

I want one :D
Just got to finish some work and head home then I'll get on :3

The edges are too sharp.
NEEDS MOAR ANTIALIASING.

Anti-aliasing would increase the chance of separate colors from Blockland appearing near the edges of the picture. I can do some edge smoothing after taking the picture though. Tell me if you want that.

Example of edge smoothing (without to the left, with to the right):

Even though some pixelation/sharpness can still be seen, there's less with smoothed edges.

If you have a NVIDIA you can force anti-alising in-game up to x32.

Why not just explain to people how to do it themselves? Can't be that hard.

Well yeah, it's really easy

OP need to add a tutorial

Some people are not used to the complicated softwarenotreallyno and the time taken to make the picture is not on their hands.

Or GIMP. But either way, some people are just potatoes.
