Author Topic: Argument about HL2 with my brother.  (Read 2279 times)

as long as you can tell that this is a gun and this is an enemy, graphics mean nothing
idtech is better because it has bunnyhopping
having basically the same graphics for half a decade - despite having several new games come out in the series in that time - is unacceptable.

and there's a reason why most new games don't have bunnyhopping - it creates a massive skill cliff for new players. in the case of quake, it's players shooting across the map at a hundred miles per hour shooting stuff with the railgun with absurd accuracy.

Thanks for bumping an old topic.
it's less than a week old, deal with it.

it's only unacceptable if you're a graphics whore
and bhopping isn't really a skill cliff, when i first learned about it it took me like 3 matches to get it down to where i could do it pretty precisely. considering cod is a console game, there won't be any people getting 100 mph railgun shots.
Alright release new games (that aren't indie games) with low res textures, bad animations and low poly graphics and tell me it'll make the same sales. Plus bunny hopping is a really really REALLY bad feature.
justin bieber makes more money in a day than you dream of making in a lifetime. does that mean he is a good artist?
also explain why bunnyhopping is a bad feature
stuff brother you bad at this
1/10 got me to reply

No. Its something that's been answer, you deal with it.

Generally in COD you have friendlies pointed away from you and enemies pointed to you.
When the brown NPCs are constantly moving around a brown environment with their brownish yellow muzzle flashes and dark brown guns, and your screen is half covered in cherry Jello, that doesn't even matter.

Also you don't get set back unless you kill Sandman or who ever your commanding officer is.
Is that when it says "FRENDLY FIRE BAD" and goes all blurry?

If you think about the content it adds to Gmod, many of the props are reused.
However, they are based on PLOT. To further the story I think is worth it.

They are expansions.

Downloadable content is just that, expansions that are downloaded, not installed. They're practically the same thing.

They are a trilogy of expansions, they do not require the original game.

Hell, even the description on the Episode 2 store page says they are expansions and that HL2 is not required.

"Half-Life® 2: Episode Two is the second in a trilogy of new games created by Valve that extends the award-winning and best-selling Half-Life® adventure."

Right from the horse's mouth.
