Help a comrade?

I dunno how to keep this open while still haing enough supports for the upper floors(the lower floors are an atrium, while the top is the main kazl.  I've only really done work on the lower parts.)

Red markers show the plates that support the raised centre, there needs to be stairs(probably in the back) and an open feeling, but everything I come up with crowds it.

Have you tried using support rafters coming out of the columns? In addition to supporting a large ceiling, they could create an interesting grid pattern.
