Author Topic: Police kill an eighth grade boy for brandishing a pellet gun.  (Read 7575 times)

That really stood out for me...

And yeah 8th graders are like 12...

Uh, no.
Most are like, 13 or 14.

They shouldn't have shot more than once, but it seemed like they just weren't thinking at the moment. It's unfortunate.

I'm not trying to deny that this is a sad event, but why the hell would you point a gun of any sort at a cop and then decline to drop it? It had no orange tip, it could've been a real gun.

That's not why.

The whole point of a gun is deadly force. If they had any intention of keeping him alive, they would use a taser.

What went through their minds is that if they gave the kid a chance to shoot them, he could go on to kill other children. It's the eighth grader's fault he was shot.

This is why I do not use BB guns

Good to see some rational posts for once instead of ones corrupted by emotions.

Or ones of stupid fads/jokes/fandoms

I use Airsofts and BB guns, it was honestly his fault for bringing one to school. Some of them look really real. He could have dropped it at the very least. They are fun to use, but luckily lots of people known how to treat the gun. I have a feeling people against Pellet guns and all will use this as an argument. Sucks that one event like this can mess it up for everyone.

*smashes kid's face and pulls out gun*
*points gun at officer*

How were the shots NOT justified? I know the woman is mad, but lets be sensible here. There are literally 11 year old bombers and mercenaries, then she goes and says you should be easier on a minor.

-"IS THAT A REAL GUN YOUR SHOOTING OUT THERE?"
"no."
-"oh okay, have fun."

This is just like something we had a thread for not long ago, only in middle school (talking about that guy who aimed an assault rifle at some cops in his house).

I see, i guess we start school earlier here or something then.

pellet guns are for cigarettes anyways. use a real gun or none at all.
there are way to many toy guns nowadays.

It's unfortunate he brought that upon himself, given how his parents described him. He must have had some serious issues bottling up inside him for him to just snap like that.
