I know that feel of waiting for an official build.

I don't know if I should go for the ICS leak for north american AT&T Galaxy S IIs.  I don't want to risk anything bad.

Not much you can risk. Just make sure you've got a stable recovery installed (obviously available), and you do a backup of your current firmware, and then poof. Install. Anything goes wrong? Boot into recovery and restore backup, and you're fine
