Face Download

Make it so you no longer have to see the blockhead face when people use a face you haven't downloaded!  This option will show up in your options menu, it will download every player's face (if you don't have it already) (this is only temporary)!


So, can anyone make this? It would be very useful to EVERYONE on blockland (well, almost everyone)

It isn't, it isn't possible to get every face in Blockland ever made. If we could anyways do you know how much files we'd have of awful faces?

Right, so if that's not possible, then getting all of the music from a game when you enter that game (temporarily) isn't possible either. Now how would Badspot make that work????

Let's not jump to conclusions now.

I changed the default smiley face in my base folder. Anyone who had textures enabled was able to see the face on my server.

It's not temporary, you download it but can't access it on single player. The music files only work on servers that also have the music you've downloaded.

So downloading faces would possibly take more time than downloading music, which is already a lot of time. Let's say there are twenty players in a server, each of them having downloaded ten faces. That's two hundred additional files the player has to download upon connecting to a server.

Unless Badspot added the ability to check/uncheck an option to "Download Faces/Decals" similar to how you can choose whether or not to download music, textures, models, etc.

Maybe instead of downloading every player's faces and decals, just the host's. There is probably a way to download faces and decals without it being added to your avatar options. Not downloading the thumbnail may work, I'm not entirely sure though.

You probably could not download incoming client's faces because you would have to stop every time to download it, if I understand how it works.

Any joining player with custom faces would need all existing players to download them. It would be a big pain in the ass.

What I mean is just the one that they are wearing AT THE TIME
