Okay, so that's a bad idea, but if you're still using the resource system (Where if no one mines for ores you can't buy items) you need to give people a reason to be a labourer.

Make payrates proportional to demand.

The factory owners set a buy/sell price, so they'll probably jack up prices at the beginning to form a monopoly *Eyes Brian*

Laborers probably can use their own resources that they have mined to build their houses for cheaper than it would cost somebody else, not to mention they have the chance of finding a gem which will surely give a good amount of pocket cash.

A stock market has already been discussed, right?

Yeah, I'm going to have to find a way to jack up taxes or something so that people who just slide the sliders all the way in one direction go bankrupt and their stuff explodes.

go bankrupt and their stuff explodes.
Please make this literally happen.

How about the employees get paid more or less depending on how long their in the factory lot. Would that work with what you have in mind?

So that you cannot trivially make an aim bot in script.

My hat thing is a no go. You can't track in which direction the player is looking.

Are factories going to be self-contained units where laborers have a safe place, isolated from other people such as criminals?

Also, can a food lot be attached to a factory?

Factory Security is totally dependent on the owner of the factory. Police will hopefully be smart enough to profile these areas for pickpockets.

Also, can a food lot be attached to a factory?
No. That's cheating. A smart grocer will set up near a factory, however.

How does the Profiteer work?

How does the Profiteer work?
Right now, it doesn't. Profiteer and Bureaucrat are the last 2 jobs I need to give duties. They're on my to-do after the election stuff.

It will work, however, by buying crates from factories and transporting them to the lot.

Okay, how is it going to work? Do you know yet?

Turtle edit:

Crates will cause it to automatically expand vertically.
