Author Topic: Reddit is bieng shut down in protest of sopa. stuff's escalating  (Read 3575 times)

This is another reason why I don't think the US is going to last another 50 years
You're a fool.

this affects the internet as a whole
I didn't mean just this bill. I mean if they start passing more bills violating our freedom I want to live at England.

I'm going to put this as lightly as possible.

Nothing will happen. End of Discussion.
Are you sure you've read this thoroughly?  This bill is just awful, of all people I'd thought maybe you'd be against it too.

I've never used or had an interest in Reddit. Not even sure what it is but I'm glad they're getting involved

Reddit is definitely pretty pretentious.
However, they did raise $500k for some politician to fight Paul Ryan.
Millions go on per day, it might raise awareness, but it's sort of redundant as it's widely known on reddit at least.
It'd make more sense for facebook or twitter to black out. If it was google or youtube it might just piss off some people..

It's funny because closing down a 4chan clone won't do anything to stop a bill from being passed.

think of 4chan
now make it so you have to create an account

Oh that's lame

4chan clone
reddit isn't a 4chan clone. Any site trying to be a 4chan clone would at least have the decency to use a Futaba Channel layout or some stuff.

They do realize if they took down Youtube some people who live off the partnership system might end up losing homes until they find a new job.

It's userbase is pretty much everybody who uses 4chan + a few random hipsters or whateva

That is true.

They do realize if they took down Youtube some people who live off the partnership system might end up losing homes until they find a new job.
That's a bit of an exaggeration, they'd have a mild pay cut.
Of course youtube still shouldn't go down.

I never got on Reddit and I am angry at the gov already.

Well I am not from America, but it kinda affects Europeans and all others too.
