now the game closes on startup
deleted cursor.plx like the faq suggests

apparently the launcher also needs an update from the servers, which are down
game closes because the launcher and game versions mismatch

now the launcher asks me to log in before it tells me that the update servers are down
i just redownloaded the old launcher
everything is fine now
