Author Topic: A problem with eventing.  (Read 4242 times)

I often make the mistake that I put "OnActivate" instead of "OnPlayerTouch" on a lot of events.
I want to turn the "OnActivate" into "OnPlayerTouch", but if you do that the event resets.
That is really annoying, it would be nice if the event wouldn't reset, because it's not needed.

This is very annoying, and instead of having it included in DrenDran's event gui (which I don't personally like so far) I would rather have it a separate mod.

This happens to me all the time. Support.

+1.
I hate that.

All I can do is save the events and use replace in notepad to replace them with a different event.
But that's tedious and it's very inefficiant.

what if you did Client -> Centerprint and then changed Client to Self. It would break, there is no Centerprint under Self. That's probably why this was restricted.

What about changing from centerprint to chatmessage to bottomprint? You lose everything, and can be annoying if you have to make a lot of these...

But the title is somewhat misleading. Is was going to kindly tell you that this is the wrong section of the forum :P

Wouldn't this mess up current event saves?

Well why not make it restricted to certain things? like what you listed above.

How? I'm only asking that events won't reset if you put for example "onplayertouch" instead of "onactivate" on an already created event. That will not mess up any builds in any way.

No, there would need to be special exceptions for ALL new events made, this entire idea is dumb

I would love this but I don't see how a person would go about making it, like big brother said, they would have to make exceptions for every new event add-on.
