Author Topic: Your Thoughts on Anthropomorphic animals? (intelligent discussion)  (Read 20983 times)

I guess I'm a furry I mean

art's interesting

But I don't want to go to a con in a fursuit

I don't plan on having a fursona

and

yiff

that's just plain nasty

The funny thing is is that you aren't unique by following a fad or associating yourself with the sickest human demographic.
You sound a lot like Lord Tony!

I don't have anything against furries, but I make fun of them occasioanlly or call them evil as a joke.

But you know, they are spawns of the devil.

I like them, I've liked them more than most people for as long as I remember.
But I also perfectly understand that not everyone does, but as for the people who hate them and start raging the second they see a picture of a cartoon animal....
The problem is that people refuse to let go of their incorrect belief that the furry fandom is nothing but a loveual special interest, and they use these stereotypes and generalizations that they hold on to to make even the most innocent pictures seem horrifyingly deviant, and attack anyone who posts, draws, or even likes them.
Not to say some furries aren't at fault for the hate either - the ones who go around shouting FURRY PRIDE, doing stupid stuff, and whining that no one likes them - deserve all the hate they get, and need to shut up, but people should stop judging the entire fandom off a few freaks.

fad
Animals have been anthropomorphized since early human history.
The fandom itself started in the early 80's
That's not a fad.

Having fursonas are common but the other things you listed are a small minority.
No one is making you do these things.

Lol didn't the fandom started before that?

Wasn't it during the time where gay men dress up in bear fursuit costumes to hide their identity because gay love was immoral?

Eh.
Depends on how well the art is.

I don't mind the art.
But I consider it a genre in it's own.
You get certain types of furry art which aren't always appealing to me.
Sometimes they can seem poorly done, or overly-complex/uncanny.
I sort of like them drawn cartoony, but slightly more serious. Not necesarilly bugs-bunny style.

A couple furry webcomics that I enjoy are TwoKinds and Jay Naylor's Original Life.

Just a warning so I don't get reported, Jay Naylor does draw furry ponography too and sells them upon their website.
It is in a section which has it's own notice on it if you choose to select it.
The latest material has a quick-front-page image shown on the right of the website, but if there is any nudity on that front-page, it is censored, but you might be able to make out what it's trying to show.
So, if you definitely don't want to see anything related to furry research, don't click the link, and if you don't mind having the image there, atleast know you won't find yourself viewing it unexpectedly.

And if you click upon the TwoKinds link, the current image as of this post shows a censored if possibly slightly lude picture. It's safe for work, but shows a "definite female outline". It's there as part of a long-thought out story though, so, it's not just a random drawing.
The actual comic is quite nice in my opinion and worth a read, if you can put up with watching the artist progress. They're hardly the best to begin with but do produce some good work later on.

Thoughts from rainbow

Yeah, furries are fine, although about 30% are those yiffy ones, what do you expect from a mostly adult fandom? Different people like different things. Some people like gay research, some people like lesbians, and some people like anthro research.

a common troll/disrespect theme is "Furries forget animals" which is just stupid because that doesnt even have any proof to back it up.
Sure, maybe a furry fapped to a horse richard, his own problem.

1 small segment of people =/= the fandom

Edit: not a long time ago, a lot of the forum has come out about being a furry, I think at least 20%

Dragons are their own type.

On one side you have quadrupedal while the other is anthro. (Of course there are also the limbless ones.)

But in my opinion, I think that a badass furry overides one's entire belief.

Scalies kinda confuse me.

I mean, aren't lizard people already socially accepted as awesome as stuff?

Right?

Right?

Regular furries are pretty bad.
