Dynamic GUI for controlling Shaders? :) Like, it finds a bunch of shader files, maybe packed as Add-Ons, and you can control settings for them the maker provides. Turn on and off.

lol.

would have been funnier if he did it with brick bedroom though.

Tony invited me to his anti-update group. I was surprised which Blocklanders were in it.

Will this effect user-made maps, such as Planets and so on?

Cool. Well, we'll look into it. We probably won't bump it for only one map. But if there are more people maxing out it makes sense.
Please do not do that. If you want to bump up the brick limit do it for the entire game not just one map.

As long as I still have my static shapes, I could still make maps that have a bit more detail than your average slate edit, for example a flat desert map with a few pyramids and trees with plenty of space to build on.
You know what. That is not a terrible idea. In fact I will start working on it right now.

(Not) V16: More visible lights? - Eksi will probably be solved by this, right?
Yes please.

Would it be possible to make the bedroom/kitchen into one, giant static shape?
Yes and it can have shadows, textures and collision but you can't build on it.

With the new method of creating the ground, will we be able to change the texture of the ground plane instead of using waterblocks?
I would assume so. I hope we no longer have to fake the ground with water.

Looks really good, but I just hope everything isnt so shiny like in that picture you posted. It would be cool to have options for how shiny something is... we could replace the lame "chrome" and "pearl" effects for something more interesting.
A new paint FX column THAT COULD BE MODIFIED BY ADD-ONS that changes the brick's specularity value would be really neat.

Anyway, the projectile question is an excellent one. If I shoot off a rocket will it cast a dynamic shadow just as bricks do? What about if I had a brick shooting a particle in the air?
Particles will not have shadows. Projectiles are DTS shapes and such will have shadows.

I will not stop asking this until I get an answer. I know it is a little offtopic but since you are actively monitoring this thread it is the only method of contacting the developers right now.

Please release all current interiors' source files to the community. Or alternatively to a small group of people if you for whatever reason do not wish everyone to have them.

I would personally have much (Blockland related) use for them and I believe the community would also benefit greatly from this. My intentions would be to import the interior 3D models to Blender and create skyboxes from them. Those skyboxes could then be used in Slates to create the illusion of an interior and also as an homage to the olden days of Blockland. I could very easily easily create several skyboxes from a single map. For example on the Bedroom floor, on the bed, on the drawer, inside the bed and so on. I see this as something the community would like.

I don't see why getting rid of the terrain/interiors is a bad thing.

Yes, I know TDM's can be huge on game terrains, but do they look good?

Perhaps switching to slate could make people actually taking time to build stuff, instead of making two forts against the Pacific and calling it a fort war. This will force people to make what this game was purposed for; build. Either way, I'm quite certain that people will, sooner or later, will create advanced terrain generation mods, till then there's LSG and TerraGen, which, I admit, aren't really subjects to use. But who knows.

I personally like, and even enjoy the idea of getting rid of terrains/interiors.
One thing I admit that will also break due to the removal of terrains is skis. They will be almost purposeless considering they also bug the forget up, alike with vehicles, on the bricks.

While playing with the base of the game, it's often known that implementing something can break another.

The engine update from v9 broke Add-Ons, for instance. But in time people began to ignore that and accept the fact that the new update will open new borders.

As Kompressor said, removing terrain and interiors will mean that optimization will be less of a hassle and there can be more concentration on making a more feasible physics system for vehicles, so they still have goddamn purpose or content. Or God Badspot knows what. Perhaps a integrated land generator? Well guess not.

Anyway, in conclusion, I fully support the Shadows and Shaders due to the above.
..Or just because I build just on Slate/Plate...

I just thought of something that would be awesome.

Due to the new shaders, will ENBSeries be compatible with Blockland now?

A noble sacrifice T~T

Skis sill work even on slate maps. If you walk forward, stop walking and use the skis at the same time, it launches you forward.

If you keep walking and use skis without stopping, you can ski forward.

Please do not do that. If you want to bump up the brick limit do it for the entire game not just one map.
He means for the whole game. By "for only one map" he means "because a single build has reached the limit."

I have yet to recieve an answer to my worries as far as hosting goes.

This update is not about changing hosting -- kompressor
Alright, although I would like to see it in the future.
