24/7 Dubstep Radio - You're locked into FILTH FM, the home of Dubstep, Grime and Drum & Bass.

In The Beginning..

FILTH FM ( http://www.filth.fm ) is a internet based Dubstep radio station, formed in 2010 by DJ and Producer STRONG. The station started with a simple black and white webpage, in the style of an 80′s video game, and a simple radio server.

Strong was quick to get in touch with DJ’s he had befriended whilst on pirate radio, and got acts like Chrispy onboard to play weekly shows. In just two weeks, the station had 5 DJ’s playing every week, playing filthy dubstep to over 13 countries.

The station was fast to expand, and new servers were bought daily to supply the huge demand for up to date dubstep, whether it be filthy, mellow or old skool, Filth.FM plays it all.

The Next Steps..

After 1 1/2 months of streaming filthy sounds to listeners worldwide, the station decided to re-vamp it’s 80′s styled website, for an up to date, informative station website, with an automatically refreshing ‘Now Playing’ box and up to date DJ profiles. This was a large step forward for Filth.FM, and increases in web views created more issues with web serving and stream serving.

The station bought a dedicated server to handle the listener stats, and improve the listeners experience whilst listening in.

The station got shows from artists such as ‘Dubfreaks’, ‘Diesel’ and ‘Dubba Jonny’, some of which played weekly shows, increasing the daily hype being spread about Filth.FM.

Getting Serious..

By September 2010, Filth.FM was receiving over 3,000 views per day from its strong fan base, and had over 10,000 Facebook fans. DJ’s such as Funtcase were supporting the station, and Guest mixes from big name producers where a weekly feature. The station acquired its own Podcast, which was posted onto the Facebook page and also available for download via iTunes. This received massive attention, and podcasts were downloaded thousands of times a day.

The station took a sharp investment into the iPhone App, something that seemed useful and rewarding to the stations listeners. After 2 weeks of planning, the App was in the iTunes Store, and received 1,000 downloads in its first month.

The FILTH FM Store Launches

We launched our first store in 2010 online, and after the first week, had received over 100 orders. Pictures on Facebook, Twitter and Flikr appeared everywhere, with Fans and DJ’s wearing the noticeable ‘Bar code’ Logo.

Dubstep by Passion, Filth by Nature..

After months of hard work and constant evolution, the station obtained over 40 DJ’s, legally playing on the airwaves to over 87 countries worldwide.

The iPhone App reached over 10,000 downloads, and the daily podcasts ranked #75th on iTunes Podcasts Chart.

The station purchased 4 new servers to handle the demand for many of FILTH FM’S weekly shows, like Dubba Jonny’s weekly show, Oriens Weekly Show, Modestep Radio’s Show, Chronos Records Show and many more.

iTunes added FILTH FM to their Radio List in January 2011, giving FILTH FM even more publicity worldwide, and with the launch of their new website their mission statement was revealed.

The new Grime and Drum & Bass Streams were created along with the new site, as an alternative to dubstep. Filth.FM’s goal was to become the number one stop for underground music, especially Dubstep.

Pretty amazing radio station, Theyre even trying to get a real radio on the radio.
