My god, some people are missing the point completely.

1. How is a light punishment going to solve anything? As stated before, if I knew something was just being taken away for a set amount of time, I don't see how that would really teach me anything.

2. It's memorable. Shooting it is a harsh but effective way of getting the point across. It's abrupt and to the point. The father doesn't accept the disrespectfulness that the girl displayed and this is a perfect example and warning for this.

3. It's a good way to also embarrass her in front of her facebook friends. And family. And 'church' people. Once again, getting the point across and ensuring that she is too embarrassed and afraid to disrespect again.

It's not like he was raging and foaming at the mouth and just ran over and grabbed a gun and in a blind fit of rage unloaded the clip into the laptop then went home and beat his wife. He just used his gun because it was a fun way to destroy the laptop, there was no rage or wildness involved. He wanted to have fun destroying the laptop since she had so much fun slandering him online. I mean some of you need to give your parents a slap for letting you grow up so clueless.
