I dislike how many people are doubting this game actually being made.
You:
- don't have a license to Torque 3D, and yet have set up a site, bulletin board and development threads on something that as far as I know isn't even started yet
- are building multiple, not just one, multiple 2D MMORPGs until you own T3D* with the belief that it will provide you with the skills needed to create MMORPGs, when in reality, since they're likely just toys and won't be truly, actively developed, will provide you with little to no knowledge on creating and maintaining MMORPGs.
[you are] holding a fundraiser on an internet lego forum.
- are claiming that a few puzzle games deems you[r team] capable of building a 3D MMORPG, potentially ground up
- are likely to be, if not mostly, 15-to-22 y.o. teens that arrogantly think they can build a
WoW-killer full-scale MMORPG and keep it or the passion for it alive
- are more likely than not, unpassionate about this project and it will be dropped/scrapped some time in the future
- likely don't have the funding to potentially keep your staff interested, or to show the public that you're serious by investing an actual sum of money (not just by purchasing a license to an outdated engine), or push your creation into the market
- have chosen an absolutely stuff engine for the job, imo
- don't have proper designers to create a quality website or forum(notably one that won't rape your eyes/mind to stuff), or proper artists(to my knowledge) to excerpt details into a visual representation(ie concept art, designing logos/other details)
- are underestimating the enormity of creating a 3D MMORPG
- your forum seems to require registration before viewing it. Honestly, any forum that keeps the public from checking out the community and/or moderation and overall intelligence is more likely to drive people away.
So you can see why we're so doubtful.
But I'm sure, once we see a working demo, it'll change our views all around.
Benefit of the doubt, I guess.
*evidence:
[...] see that we are making small 2D MMORPGs
[...] making 2D GAMES. While raising money for TORQUE 3D. By the time TORQUE 3D is able to be bought by Chao, then we can CREATE a 3D MMORPG, and we will have experience in CREATING MMORPGs [...]
