Oh, apparently a simplistic 2D platformer is the logical predecessor to making a 3D MMORPG.THIS. Don't underestimate networking. Torque has good networking, but it's not good enough for an MMORPG.
Chao is going to be in charge of the server.

And if you can read, then read above, and see that we are making small 2D MMORPGs while raising money for Torque 3D.

Generally it's more professional to own the engine before you make a game rather than hold a fundraiser on an internet lego forum.

Most of the members already own Torque 2D, so we will be making MMORPGs with 2D WHILE raising money for Torque 3D. We will still be very busy.

Oh, so now your making multiple MMORPG's... you guys really have zero clue what your doing lol

Torque sucks. Use a modern engine.

Making SMALL. EASY to make 2D GAMES. While raising money for TORQUE 3D. By the time TORQUE 3D is able to be bought by Chao, then we can CREATE a 3D MMORPG, and we will have experience in CREATING MMORPGs by the TIME.

How many loving times do I have to repeat this.

EDIT: lovey new logo.

Logo looks real bad, and Torque 3D is only $180. Why would you even need to raise any money for it.

Exactly, As I've read through all of the communities, depressing, doubtful comments i have just raised the money myself to buy Torque 3D Studio, and I as well am taking multiple Torque and Modeling classes at my University.  So as you guys have clearly said, this idea will fail without productive members of the team, why not be like me and actually loving contribute something?  I'm wasting much time of my life on this and I won't see it fail.  Even if I'm the one who has to make the whole damn thing.

Thanks.

You aren't the only one eligible to help on this game. I am, and so is Chao. If you ask me, just you me and Chao could all make this RPG, just the 3 of us.

I realized, that came out a little bit wrong, truthfully my point to everyone is stop wasting time posting here with negative comments when you could be helping us out by doing something productive

Please do so.

I dislike how many people are doubting this game actually being made.

OP is a friend idea guy

I dislike how many people are doubting this game actually being made.
You:
  • don't have a license to Torque 3D, and yet have set up a site, bulletin board and development threads on something that as far as I know isn't even started yet
  • are building multiple, not just one, multiple 2D MMORPGs until you own T3D* with the belief that it will provide you with the skills needed to create MMORPGs, when in reality, since they're likely just toys and won't be truly, actively developed, will provide you with little to no knowledge on creating and maintaining MMORPGs.

  • [you are] holding a fundraiser on an internet lego forum.

  • are claiming that a few puzzle games deems you[r team] capable of building a 3D MMORPG, potentially ground up
  • are likely to be, if not mostly, 15-to-22 y.o. teens that arrogantly think they can build a WoW-killer full-scale MMORPG and keep it or the passion for it alive

  • are more likely than not, unpassionate about this project and it will be dropped/scrapped some time in the future
  • likely don't have the funding to potentially keep your staff interested, or to show the public that you're serious by investing an actual sum of money (not just by purchasing a license to an outdated engine), or push your creation into the market
  • have chosen an absolutely stuff engine for the job, imo

  • don't have proper designers to create a quality website or forum(notably one that won't rape your eyes/mind to stuff), or proper artists(to my knowledge) to excerpt details into a visual representation(ie concept art, designing logos/other details)
  • are underestimating the enormity of creating a 3D MMORPG
  • your forum seems to require registration before viewing it. Honestly, any forum that keeps the public from checking out the community and/or moderation and overall intelligence is more likely to drive people away.

So you can see why we're so doubtful.
But I'm sure, once we see a working demo, it'll change our views all around.

Benefit of the doubt, I guess.
