Author Topic: [Open Discussion] Mapping in v21 with Modular Set Pieces  (Read 15289 times)

I've been tinkering, I know that one face is missing. This is about 8 of them tiled, they're about the size of a x32 baseplate. I'm working on smoothing it out. Every top you see would be 4x4. Also that pink splotch idk.

Lol nice bumpy terrain Nasoa. Google SkefchUp fun? I was using Google Sketchup but couldn't find a good dae2dts converter or obj exporter.

Great idea! I honestly think that brick making should be simplified though.

Would be cool if you loaded up an infinite slate map, with the flat ground already done.
When entering edit mode, the grid would appear, but, you get a handful of terraforming-tools.

These could be ones like smooth, lower ground, raise ground, create water, create cube and so on.
There could also be diffrent smoothing opinions and ways to make a specific area smooth.

I support the idea to 100%, and if it isn't officially included, will there be a way to implent it as an add-on?

one problem-
What about collision?

If I remember correctly, vehicles tend to pass through large bricks.
A wall made out of 1x2s would stop a vehicle more than a huge 1 brick wall.

More like the vehicles would get stuck in the 1x2s and pass through the big wall.

with interiors and terrain being removed they'll probably improve vehicle physics to make up for this.

Forgot to mention the getting stuck part.

SHIIIIIT I had it perfectly smoothed out and then kaput my laptop decides to turn off.

Welp.
That's quite unfortunate.

Much better. Going to see about some buildings.

This is such an amazing idea, I hope Badspot makes this!

Crap quality animation but you get the point.
