This would be more accurate if you asked a bigger forum.
like Facepunch?
I looked at it once, the layout sucks

No matter what transportation you use theres always still the risk of something dangerous happening.
Yes. But what are the chances of surviving a car crash compared to a plane crash?
I would base my view on the fact that plane crashes are much less likely to occur than a car crash over the fact that if I were to crash I'd be less likely to survive a plane crash.

Plane crashes are harder to occur than Car crashes, because think about it, planes almost always have air-traffic controllers guiding each plane preventing them from colliding. You're not going to have a drunk pilot, considering that there is always two pilots. And the chance of your plane losing control are so much slimer than you losing control of a car.
There are also a smaller amount of planes going your exact route or on intersecting routes than there are cars.

I know that I have a rather small chance of even being in a car crash but I have a much smaller chance of being in a plane crash.  I'd take the knowledge that it's unlikely for me to crash in a plane over the knowledge that if I were to crash I'm not likely to survive. That way I could happily fly in a plane and I am happy to do so because of that.

I personally chose things which made more sense to me or seemed at times like the slightly less obvious choice.

The driving is more likely to be dangerous than flying as I've said, Heart Disease is caused by many many more things than Cancers are and it's much more widespread. In places where people rarely suffer from certain types of cancers they are still rather likely to have heart diseases. Which includes Heart Attacks and all sorts.

I personally chose the hot water over the bag. I know that there are cases of asphyxiation from bags, but I don't doubt that there a number of deaths caused by hot water.
It's easy to scold one's self in such a way to cause a burn that can get infected.
Shock is also true, but I didn't think of that when I chose.
Most people are quite aware that they shouldn't put a plastic bag over their head. Whereas it's an honest and often unpreventable accident to burn yourself on hot tap water.

Between crossing the street or lightning it had to be the Street for me.
The chances of car-collisions or even collisions with bicycles or other vehicles is much higher than happening to be outside (Or in some cases inside) in a lightning storm.
And there are a large number of car-collisions with pedestrians each year, which also ties in to the chances of having a car-accident than a plane-accident.
My planes don't often fly into people crossing the street.

Choking on Small Objects is a reasonably likely choice to be deadly, but there are many cases of electrocution too. Which I don't doubt are almost the same amount. It was a bit of a toss-up for me on this one. I'd like to say Choking if it also includes things like choking on food.

And I personally chose falls over fires/burns for it being a less-obvious choice.
I might be wrong there though.

Assuming that OP gathers all the information he wishes and closes the poll, writes his report and all that, will he release his answers?
And if so, what source they are from? I'd be interested to know.
I don't expect you to give the source away now, because then everyone could view it and find out the correct answer and ruin your data.

After I finish the Science Fair project I will in fact release the correct answers. The reason I didn't do it now is because you could take it once, see the answers and do it again, here, you don't know, ever.
The source I'm getting this from is directly from John Stossel's Give Me a Break talking about his Television show Scaring Ourselves to Death?. Since this show aired he has updated the list, and the updated list is my source material for my project.

I'd watch the video, it's actually very good.

there's a reason that you don't hear about car wrecks on the news, but you do hear about every plane crash
what do you mean, I hear about car crashes on the news like every day. it just happens more often than plane crashes.

there's a reason that you don't hear about car wrecks on the news, but you do hear about every plane crash
The reason is that cars hold 5 people and planes hold hundreds.

What if its a clown car?
