i have to agree with this. i love the gameplay but i seriously hate the story for some reason, it's been messed up and scrambled through different games in wrong chronological order too much over these 10 years. it's time they fix the storyline already, i still have no idea what kingdom hearts exactly is.
SPOILER ALERT FOR EVERY KINGDOM HEARTS GAME:
You are a kid in a time where Xehanort, master of darkness, is taking control over the worlds because of the path a previous key blade wielder chose to go on. You discover this when a bunch of Heartless attack your island. It turns out that the leader of the heartless is named Ansem. You then venture to Castle Oblivion, where you lose memories, and they from into the nobody, Roxas. Roxas learns his purpose in life, and is sent into a virtual Twilight Town by Riku, your friend, and a masked man. In the virtual world, he manages to get out of the computer and wake up Sora [you]. When you are awake, you visit old friends and make new ones from Disney worlds. After getting to the World That Never Was, you face the Organization XII [the group of nobodies, Roxas being no. XIII] and defeat Xemnas, the real master of Heartless and Nobodies. (The masked man was Ansem, who just researches on the giant heart collection called Kingdom Hearts, and he dies while trying to extract the energy from it.)
Well, that was the main part of the story between 1 and 2. I'd continue on, but I've spent too much time posting this.
