And you act like you've seen it all?
Look, children did not have fancy as stuff iPods and Television. Back then, they relied on their own wit for entertainment, like my father did.
Then again, he was from a poor family
But that's not my point. My point is, that back then children were better disciplined and not handicapped douchebags who wear their pants around their ankles and date a dumb bint who tries to be popular for about five weeks then dump her, get a new broad, and the cycle repeats.
How old are you? TV has been around since the 60's (at least widely available since then). iPods don't do societal damage, they're quite nifty and haven't sourced any extreme cause for controversy, although I believe you meant to say smartphones or the such. In that aspect, it's true that kids didn't have those things.
You see, for us people who are old enough to look back on the 90's, of course you're going to see those days with favor. People automatically put their childhood on a golden pedestal because they were so simple-minded back then, and everything appeared to be awesome. So of course that's all you understand about that era. And that's what makes it so great! A lot of people have this great time to look back to and get nostalgia over, but the fact of the matter is, horrible things happened in the 90's and earlier as well. The point is, none of us (a select few will) remember the bad things that happened then. People got divorced, kids were stupid, and some tragedies shook the world (gulf war, 911 (yes, i know it's 2001), vietnam war, etc...).
Bottom line, everyone looks fondly on their childhood (unless they had a bad childhood) and thinks that era was perfect, when really little has changed. Technology has advanced, parenting has gone downhill, economic issues within the US have risen, and over the world there are new sets of problems everyday. But right now, some 5 year old kid is having the time of his life. And in 15 years or less he's going to look back and say "wow, 2012 was so much better, my generation is stuff".
Alright, hold the phone.
You are perfect evidence for the bad part of society today.
You act like you are smart but instead you come to me as a total idiot. First of all, don't go...
because that adds to the stupidity factor. Second, do you have a father that was born in the 50's? I do, and he's taught me a lot about society from about 1960-Present.
He probably has a father from the 50's-60's-70's. Kochie, I know a fair share about societal changes and advances since the 50's and I can tell you that Koopa simply doesn't have a more eloquent explanation to his reasoning such as I provided in the above paragraphs.
