I think it was found in a volcano because everyone got so pissed off at the user's rampage that he was thrown into a volcano to suffocate. Also, vikings is how it got there.

but vikings never went to the west-coast of north america, they landed on the east coast on canada, and there was no civilization near st. helens besides the native americans. it also never said the armor had runes on it.
