You kind of missed the point.

As KS stated, it's a post your desktop thread, not a "post your desktop and your gtk+ theme and your audio player and your openbox configuration" thread. In some cases, it may be reasonable to post a screenfetch with general system info, but it's not really necessary.

Others have done this plenty of times, but I suppose the only reason you're specifically being attacked is because of your annoying habit to hop on new linux distros far too often than you should.

To wrap it up, my advice is to post only what's really necessary, as anything more that comes off as "techy" or "geeky" also comes off as boastful in the context of this thread.
