badspot promised us v21 with new shaders n such.

do you think blockland as v20 is unfinished?
blockland was finished instantly post beta testing.

you seem to misunderstand the development of games. or just are acting like an ignorant spoiled child. so much is owed to you huh lol

At all you richardheads going on about the monthly fee: you don't simulate what will be (around) a million 16-bit CPUs and rigid body physics on a master server for free. forget off and learn WHY he's making it P2P before you complain about it.

If I told you Notch has said before that its not complete to him does that count as being spoiled?

and what makes you think its not going to be done? you said yourself hes got a team. why the forget should notch have to do it himself then?

he likely hired guys just so he can abandon the support as hes loving done with minecraft. let his boys update and upkeep the game for him.

hes an important asset to waste on a finished project, hes moving on like he should be.

game devs shouldn't sit by on their one project for a lifetime. he likely plans to output games every few years.

I'll just quote a guy from Facepunch.

Quote
I laugh at the Minecraft fanboys who won't see the truth in front of their eyes, I was playing Minecraft before it was even sold and I was the 262nd person to buy it (back when they showed how many people had bought the game) and I followed Notch since the very beginning.

I also saw how he was a humble indie dev and became money greed with the Minecraft success, he made too much money in too little time and that got in his head, I've seen billionaires who take less vacations than this guy, he's always too tired to work and when he isn't he's spamming twitter about the games he's playing or some other irrelevant stuff.

The site for the space game is a perfect example of his bad methods, as is the scrolls website (but at least that one has some artwork and lets you sign for the alpha (beta?)), usually you get some progress made on the actual game before you make a website for it, you can reserve the address but it's a very bad idea to just say "The game is gonna have x, y and z" before you actually try to implement it, that's what ideas guys do and we all know that when stuff gets to hard to implement, Notch just calls it impossible and moves on.

The same thing happened with Minecraft, he originally made a lot of promises that were never implemented and some of you are calling it design changes, why bother promising them if you're not gonna do them? at least promise something when it's about half-done.

Now don't get me wrong, I love Minecraft and have spent hundreds of hours on it, it was certainly my moneys worth, specially since I bought it when it was in Alpha, but Notch's way of dealing with his customers (and other stuff, like challenging the guys who are giving you a lawsuit for a game of quake to settle it) is just bad.
He lists all of my points and more so.

yeah he sounds like an entitled little child as well.

he got his product and he was pleased with it. hes not special for being around since alpha. he dosnt deserve jack stuff.

minecraft is done. even that guy seems to think so. hes bitching about a guy having lots of money? since when is that a problem. its not notch's job to make games for you.

I actually saw that earlier and noticed you were making very similar points.

I'm still going to reiterate my point about who cares if the game is 'finished' or not. That's just a tag in a repository, what matters is that it has enough gameplay to be fun and keeps you coming back.

"he's always too tired to work and when he isn't he's spamming twitter about the games he's playing or some other irrelevant stuff."

lol so you all just have notch on some kind of personal content updating contract dont you guys.
or is it that you think he shouldnt use twitter for anything other then telling you what new toys on minecraft you can play with.

your problem, is that you all depend on dev logs as a source of news. and you depend on interaction with the developers as hope that they are doing exactly what you want them to be working on.

i bet you would take offence to badspot working on another game right now. even though you are awaiting v21.
as if he cant do 2 things at once. or pause one finished project's update, to dive into a new project.

I couldn't give a damn about v21, lol I hardly play the game unless one of my friends wants to play. I'd trust Badspot to deliver more than I would Notch any day. See you got me all wrong I love Minecraft, but for people to get their hopes up over this game from a guy whos failed to bring to the table what he spews out is kind of saddening.

Just as a note I too have experience with assembly programming and am more familiar with the concepts of it and processor design than Nitramtj.

But then how does that factor in?

"When you purchase a game through Mojang you do so as is, be it in the early stages of development or already fully released. Subsequent updates are only an added bonus and not guaranteed. Purchases during the development of the game are usually discounted but include the full game upon release."

These are the terms everyone had to agree to when they bought Minecraft.

Also, Notch hasn't been working on Minecraft for a long time. He handed it off to Jeb.
