Author Topic: The future of gaming?  (Read 1808 times)

I'm posting from my 3ds right now lol.

With the current trend of pc developers turning there backs on the pc to get more money by turning to the market will make console's dominate for a long time. Ironically these console games are coded on a pc or macontosh. I can also see indie devs and small companies like Valve rule over the pc gaming market. As for consoles the controller will be part of consoles for a few more years I assume before technology like the kinect takes over.

The good thing about motion control is that you atleast get some form of a work out and you aren't wearing your thumbs out with joy sticks.
Valve is a multi-million dollar company and Gabe is a billionaire.
Not small.

Anyway I got a 3DS and got bored of it after a bit. It was basically a Netflix machine. The games aren't very compelling anymore. I might get the new Paper Mario, but that's the last nintendo game i'll be buying for a while. I'm currently hoping to get a new PC, but we are poverty so there's a tiny chance.

console gaming will die once the steam box comes out.
steam has killed all retail stores. a console sized gaming pc for cheap that can run steam and PC games. that will utterly destroy xbox, nintendo, and playstation.

The glasses are no longer red and blue, they're the kind they used to have at the eye doctor.
They're awesome as forget, I saw Journey to the Mysterious Island in Imax 3D, awesome as hell.
The last 3D movie I watched was Spy Kids 3D, and that was impossibly long ago.

If you take your glasses off the screen is blurry as hell.

sadly, disney owns realD
a much nicer way to use 3d. rather then the blue/red stuff

i don't foresee a great future for gaming
per example
the new xbox will require constant network connection to play any game, and you can't play used games

the new playstation will make it unable to play used games, and something about account data i forgot

the wii U just looks absolutely amazing actually, and may be the next hot pick for gamers unless you see a wild DRM system like no used games

Storylines 20 years ago:
20 years after the nuclear bombs scorched earth, one survivor will make a difference.

Storylines today:
FIRST DA 卐'S ☠ED ✡'S DEN DUH ☭'S KILD DEM AND DEN DUH ☪'S TRIED TO ☠ DUH USA'S BUT DEN DUH  USA'S ☠ED DUH ☪'S. DEN DUH  USA'S ☠ED DUH ☭'S AND DEN ☮.

The wii u looks like a step in the right direction. I'm really looking forward to it.

This movie pretty much sums up what games will be like, minus actual people at the other end.

What I like to call the "Valve Box," even if it is officially the "Steam Box."

See: Norman Jayden's ARI glasses.

We will see giant, 'easy' 'user-friendly' buttons, symbols instead of words, etc.
