This is a problem with your PC. I'm going to guess you crash whenever it becomes daytime or nighttime. Whenever the lighting and/or skybox is updated, some people crash. This is probably why.

Not having Adjustable Plate isn't the problem. It's just whenever the host changes the skybox or lighting, for some reason - a handful of people will crash. This had gone on for a while.

No. Adjustable Plate is like a simplified Mission Editor for Plate. The problem is that some people crash when the skybox or lighting is updated/changed. Downloading Adjustable Plate is not going to fix the problem. It's the same reason people crash when they are on a server with a Day/Night mod.

This will most likely be fixed in v21 though with the default Day/Night cycle.

How to deal with bandits-
Travel in groups.

Trust no one, except if you're really sure.

If you get spotted, follow their instructions and pray. Shooting back will only cause death. Even if you kill them, you may be downed,causing you to bleed out.

Another Mutalid has been spotted in the WT, suspected to have escaped. It seems passive in the Town and Ravine, but attacks anyone who enters the Quarry. It also attacks anyone carrying a weapon.
