Maybe zombies should be buffed. They are insignificant to the story at this point. Almost every playerkill is by a survivor or the apache or a mutalid. The reason is people see zombies as a slight nuisance. Guns are too easy to get and a melee weapon is basically the best thing you can use. Not to mention, syringes are super common. I have four suggestions. They are interchangable.
1. Add longer respawn times to the weapons. If someone is seen camping the unspawned weapon we tell them to move on. I don't think adding more time to the respawn is the answer, but campers should, and most times are, told to move on. At least by increased respawn times we have less people armed to their loving teeth with crossbows and lmgs.
2. Make zombies harder to kill. They have somewhat bad AI right now and one melee hit is all it takes to kill them. Maybe we should make headshots lethal and the rest much much harder to do. Audax set the zombies to hard, 2hits melee and almost instakill, I mean it was like really fast health loss. Then decrease the damage per second.
3. Increase the zombie spawn rate, do more "omg a horde is coming" stuff when something loud happens. (e.g apache flys over the survivor camp, holyfuq zambies D:) This is an okay idea, just you don't want zombies instant re-spawning like down in the lab or anything. In which case we could add more numbers. The reason I always found zombie mods (particularly rotondo's) around v8 before special infected was the swarm factor. You had to think about how you were going to approach the problem. You couldn't just rush in with a melee weapon and one hit an entire swarm. However in Bluzone zombies are pretty lone wolf, an exception being under the pipe.
4. Scatter the weapons more, add the heavy stuff (machine guns/snipers/shotguns) in hard to reach places as a reward for enduring fighting so many zombies on the way to said weapons. Perhaps you could put the RPG behind a long canyon, in which dying is permadeath. It'd keep people who normally just orbit around rp activity like moths on a light busy. It'd add some more depth to the rp. PK over zombie death is not an appealing thought, making zombies harder and PK would just ruin it for me, I'v work to develop Marley and I'd rather kill him when I want or Do something crazy like taking on Mutalid 1 on 1. Less heavy weapons is what I would like to see, more shotguns and semi rifles, less automatics. Its a little more realistic. I meant PK in a certain area, an area with a rocket launcher at the end. I don't want them to be harder and PK, that'd ruin the RP. It would be entirely your choice to risk your character to get the rocket launcher. The only downside I can see is people creating scrap characters to throw away trying to get the rocket launcher. I do agree we need more realistic weapons, perhaps a mass quantity of one or two at the base, since the survivor camp used to be an army station I think. The unique weapons would be in WT and canyon pass and in the mutalid caverns or gammaton.

Another thing that I'm almost certain is impossible to make, but would be amazing:

Idk. It wouldn't add much and guns go off too often anyway, don't they? Plus every weapon makes sounds, there's no silent killer.

You guys are asking for more things for the zombies, while they are already fine. The role-play doesn't revolve too much around going around killing zombies. You're asking for things that would most likely go unnoticed because it wouldn't have that much of an impact on the role-play.

Right now the respawn time, on most items, is 5 mins (Least that's what i was told) increasing to say 7mins wouldn't really help anything. Instead of players waiting 5 min they'd wait 7 and then get the crossbow. They still would get the crossbow, or the weapon they wanted. The only way I could see players not being armed to the teeth is decreasing the slots to hold items or making the respawn like 15mins which is a crazy nonwanted amount of time.

This way they give more damage and its like 2hit kill with melee, which could be decreases even more, and it would be just as much, if not more, fun.

I like how to get the RPG you have to get the red key, so making the red key more guarded and/or harder to get would be awesome. This works because if you die its not a PK, but you still lose all your weapons, meaning you have to gather them again, and wait for a while to attempt getting the key again. Then after you get the key, we could set the RPG in a heavily guarded zombies place. This would basically make it so to get the RPG you would need a friend. What do you think?

zombies already kill players pretty fast.

Actually I tried pink and yellow, both to bright to use. All I'm saying is I think more zombies would be cool. Set them on hard and make them slow. That's all :)

Horde events are a special admin activated event. I use it to punish players who are causing a lot of commotion in an area. I like to think that the gunshots and sound attract the zombies in the surrounding hills. I'll wait an unannounced amount of time and when there are people in the area, causing even the slightest noise I'll unleash a horde.

You yourself said it was turning into a sci-fi roleplay. WT is barely even dangerous at night if you have a melee weapon and a pill. The only times I seem to die at night is falling off that damn pipe. I don't want it to become central around zombies but it'd make the zombie-fighting more than just an annoyance.
