Probably the most stressful part of being an admin is the drama.
When this server gets drama'd you better be loving ready to jump in and defend it.
Then other banned users come in and bash the server and criticize the admins and everything.

Fun stuff.

Well, that won't be much of a problem. We already know that the people who make those dramas are ignorant twats.

I know this is true, but I've been thinking... Maybe you guys care a little too much about getting drama'd? I know it might detract a bit from the server popularity, but if someone goes around the drama section, and judges servers based on banned people, why should you really care that they don't want to join? In addition, being the most popular server isn't the most important thing. You have tons of fans, and they're sticking with you. There's no way the masses will quit coming just because of some dramas.

You guys (the Bluzone administrators) are acting like no one else has ever been an admin before. Bluzone is more serious than most servers, yes... But that doesn't mean no one else knows what it's like. You're saying that being an admin sucks and it's not an honor to be one, but why did you agree to the role? Let's face it, no one would become an admin of their favorite server if it meant they would have a lot less fun. I think that the benefits do outweigh the burdens.

We say you don't know what it's like because you really don't know what it's like. I've been admin on other servers and Bluzone is nothing like them. I've been an admin practically since day one of the revival so I never really got the chance to be a normal player. I didn't really realize when it entailed until it was too late.

Playing on the server is still fun, and I enjoy it for the most part, but being an admin on this server is very different from other servers and is a lot more stressful.

Another stressful part is always having people bugging you to host.
That's why I feel bad for Audax and Ike because they get asked so much.

I don't think you should really get stressed about these things.. :/
Go with the flow man

By the way, Ike did you say you were hosting or did I misinterpret that?

Last time I checked, I don't think you really can choose what you get stressed over.

Then why not get more people? Take a little weight off your chests, even it out a little more.

Not entirely, but yes you can choose. Just think about it and be like "Oh that doesn't really matter, it'll be fine" Don't lie to yourself though, you have to actually know that petty crap doesn't really matter in the long run.

This really makes a lot of sense... I know good admins are hard to come by, but the more you have, as long as it's not too many, the easier and less 'stressful' it will be for all of you.

It's not as simple as "getting more people"
We have to make sure they're right for the role, we have to keep an eye on them and have a secret trial/observation period, etc.

Sounds good.

To each his own I guess.
You gotta walk before you can run.
And other poetic nonsense.

You came to a role-play server wanting to role-play. Not administrate.

You're not a role-player with the power to help moderate the server. You're a moderator and/or host who gets to role-play. You said yourself this server is different from others, there is more to the basic moderation. There is no way we can 100% let you know what it's like, and you won't unless you do one day get granted these responsibilities.

Right before the summer heat-wave came I role-played rarely. I made sure that everyone else was having fun and no one else was ruining it. When I got a bad vibe from someone, I kept an eye on them. When I have a strong feeling someone is going to randomly attack someone, I hope I can ban them before they kill someone or ruin someone else's experience. When things are going slow, I'll think up a small event so everyone else will continue to have fun; so things don't get too boring.

This isn't the same type of moderation on other servers. You're not just kicking or banning people who break the rules; you're doing much more than that constantly so everyone else can have a good time.

Like I said, a lot of you seem to want power and help ban people than actually run the server, help players, help admins etc. I'm just going to leave it at that. Again, you won't know until you've actually tried it. But if you feel like you can do such a great and better job - good for you. I hope you live up to your expectations.

EDIT: Typo.
