It does follow GTA's timescale...

24 minutes of day, 24 minutes of night.

Also, please don't vote until you've joined and played in the server.

I honestly think it needs to be a touch longer.

Oh. WOPS

Also I probably should experience it more. I assume the issue will already be closed though.

Kniaz, soemthing broke. There can only be 100 items, and some other weirdness is going on.

Too short. Maybe 5 minutes more on both ends would be fine.

I think it's just right.

And I woulda tried to prevent it if you had let me join that RP.

Vote for "Just right" or you're a friend.

I realize that the firing at Abram thing was sort of power-RPing, and I voluntarily voided that, but I think it's time we all had a discussion about "stage" RPs. I call them "stage" RPs because, like a movie, play, or show, everything seems to be pre-destined, and those who don't have a place in the admin's/director's "plans" are unwelcome and unable to create a role for themselves. Remember, we can't join the RP if we can't RP with anyone.
I think the Bluzone seems to be becoming more and more of a "stage" RP. Things are predestined and nobody but the "directors" and their chosen few "actors" have any significant effect on what happens. Remember how Marley couldn't syringe Aaron to death because Nikki "had plans for him"? I had plans for Roger Mortis, but that doesn't make him any less dead. But because Kaph had plans for Abram, he comes back from the grave? I just don't like it. It doesn't feel right. RPs were supposed to be about more improv than a predefined script, and sadly, the Bluzone appears to be losing it's grip on improv. Things are becoming more and more controlled as time goes on. Nobody but the "directors" and "actors" really matter. None of the players who have been PKed recently ever got a grave, or anything to mark their passing, nothing to honor their memory, with the exception of players who are part of the elite "Director" or "Actor" category. I find it extremely frustrating that I cannot have a valid place in this RP.
It's as bad as a crappy Sonic RP that I used to visit. Everyone was sticking exactly to the plot of some tv episodes. I did what I could to liven it up as a villain, with actions that didn't make sense or were plain silly, but for all I did, I couldn't get them to deviate from their "script". I fear that soon the Bluzone will simply be another "script", and all who do not "fit in" will be silently removed, voided, ignored, or silenced.

Discuss.

When Nikki said she had "plans for Aaron" that's because it was part of an event the admins talked about that would spark a huge role-play and involve a lot of players. It wasn't necessarily "Oh I don't like this; void it."

I don't know about the Abram stuff, but there is a part of me that is turned off at how many times he gets himself into a situation where he is killed fairly, but comes back in a handicapped Sci-Fi fashion.

Most things are not predetermined. And if they are, chances are there are a few extra variables that will change that.

Main thing is that people need to stop voiding stuff all the time. This pisses me off the most.

Understandable, and yet, perhaps refrain from making pre-planned events too complex. It makes it seem like those characters involved in instigating said event are more important than anyone else, as the rest of us cannot instigate events of our own.

Indeed, I just don't like it.

While many things are not, it seems that a lot of key story events are. Remember when the baby red mutalid got killed after someone spooked it? The admin playing as said baby red mutalid said he was going to have the mutalid go on a rampage either way, so even if nobody had spooked it, it would still have found some reason to attack the survivors and instigate the mother's rage.

Yeah, it just seems wrong.

There are no main key events, it's just that those have a more interesting story. People can make their own events, not many people do - or the event is handicappedly stupid and non-canon. Events aren't some pre-determined role-play. It's exactly what the name says, an event. It sparks a role-play and helps set the players up with something to role-play about and do.

But most of the time some players are smart enough and don't have to wait for someone to make an event - they role-play on their own and it goes pretty well. One example is Ike and his 3-4 group, before he was an admin. I bumped into them in the sewers. Now I'm not sure of the specifics, but their group had a story. A goal so to say; something to do. And they were role-playing it out.

There was no event beforehand that made them go on their journey and exploration, they were good enough role-players to do something on their own - without the need of an event sparking a big role-play on the server.

If you feel like your character is left out, that you can't make events and role-play, that's your fault and you're wrong. Lots of people I have seen on the server are capable of going out on a big role-play story of their own, and they don't need an admin or someone to do a big event.

It's not events that are the problem, it's the players not being able to efficiently role-play.

No offense, Audax, but most of the stories sure seem to revolve around a couple of people. I tried to recruit the help of others in getting materials for the repair of the generators to restore power to Gammaton, but all I got, despite the server's good roleplayers, was one half-hearted trigger-happy looney (he tried to "fix" the generators by stabbing them with a metal knife) and a bullet in the shoulder courtesy of Ike (which I kinda deserved). I even blew out a roof with an RPG scavenging for parts, but the admins never responded to my questions as to how to go about it or if they should change the roof at all afterward. It was a dismal failure. The fact that almost all the other survivors are A. new to the Bluzone and it's method of RP, B. already part of a group, or C. Too cool for groups (i.e. Roxxi) seriously limits my options, as does the fact that I don't have existing friends on the server (with the rare exception of Joltarn, who was an SA on Cysero's where I hung out before the insanely high facecount started crashing me upon spawning there). I tried to make events and roleplay invitations but I was mostly met with indifference. A month ago my Wilder character helped a mutalid recover from an explosion and wandered with her for a little bit but after that nothing really became of it.

Have you seen how when Abram attacks Roxxi, five to seven people run to her defense, while when thugs beat me up, everyone just walks by? When mhlocka's character was knifed and Ring's character was injured by shrapnel at the same time, everyone paid so much attention to Rings and mostly ignored mhlocka. I was the only one who even noticed. mhlocka later got perma'd, and I think it was because of how he kept going on about the way Vengeance surrounded him when he only broken a window but I don't remember the exact reason.

I feel like my character is left out because since my return from a 3-week absence, I have been unable to wedge myself into anything that anyone else is doing OR get anyone else to join in what I am doing. They all just tell me in OOC to leave, their story is already planned out, and there's not enough good RPers left for me to create anything of any significance. Roger Mortis was an example of what happens when one player tries to instigate RPs without other players to back him up. Everyone just ignores him, or walks away, or what-have-you, anything but joining in.

Any thoughts on that, Audax?
