Early Trailer

Kickstarter trailer

As some of you may remember back around February 13th there was a Teaser trailer type video released on youtube for a game mock up under the name Call of Duty: Police Warfare. Today it was announced that this game is really going to happen, the team has named themselves "Elastic Games" and is composed of professional and experienced individuals who have worked in the gaming industry.
They have opened a Kickstarter page hoping to get some funding for the game Link-
more detail on the game in the links.

Discuss.

$3,700 of $350,000
wow they sure have a long way to go

The game looks ok, but nothing great, just seems like a upgraded version of Counter Strike.

Well the kickstarter did just start, pretty sure it was today even. As for the game itself imagine combining games like payday the heist, rainbow six, battlefield, maybe a touch of counterstrike and you get what i believe they are trying to achieve. I think this project shows potential.

every man and his dog are starting to make kickstarter projects

looks ok though

edit: this ruins it completely for me
"$100+ Get the special unlockable secret class for both SWAT and Robber teams including exclusive weapon kits. This special class and exclusive weapon kit will NEVER be available to the public or anybody else, it's a Kickstarter EXCLUSIVE."

probably has a minigun and 500 health

I too was disappointed in their choice of adding a extra class for the contributors but I'm sure it wont be that bad.

probably has a minigun and 500 health
as I said above I'm sure it won't be THAT bad.
Might get killed once or twice by the few people who do contribute $100 or more in these short 30 days, but after a while it will probably barely be noticeable.

Call of Duty cigarettes predicted response to new game

"fuc da poleece"

>Kill

No just No.
Pardon?

New interview says targeted release is October 2013 assuming the goal of $325,000 is met. They won't stop the project if not met but it will slow down progress just a bit.
I misread that, actual qoute.

"While it isn't playable in any fashion at the moment – either as a proof of concept mod or an alpha build – Elastic is targeting an October 2013 release."

Would have guessed summer next year but ok

What I'm really looking forward to in the time between completion is some gameplay videos, everything else seems to be done well, but I'm more interested in seeing if its something really cool or just Counter Strike cops and robbers version.

I'm sure we're all looking forward to the gameplay videos. Over those 8 months they were mostly working on the Pitch trailer (All the models and animation stuff) Now that they're actually making a game out of it we can expect more work on the game itself and less work on visuals (at the moment they only have a technical Directer so theres for now they need to get more coders on the team.)

so it's basically payday: the heist but with call of duty?
