Chemlights are good at times like that. They let you navigate (a bit) without being the equivalent of a nuke flash on the horizon when you're trying to avoid snipers.

I was just starting out. So I was very limited on gear.
I'm doing great now. Played with a good friend and we both got M16a2's and M1911's. Plenty of food and water.
I even got to drive a tractor :3

Whenever I play I spawn in the bottom left hand corner of the map which is completely loving devoid of anything even remotely high-value for miles.

That is when you press esc.. and click "Respawn".

Went to airfield with my M1014, sneaked there, got sniped with an AKM, losing 4K blood, down to 7k blood. Got chased by zombies, saw a guy, killed him, but lost 2k blood from the zombies, down to 5k blood. Went to barracks, loving bench in the way got me down to 3k blood. Ran out of airfield, passed out, eaten by zombie down to 700 blood. Now I'm in an open field west of NWAF with 700 blood and one drink and one can of food. Can anyone bring a blood bag? :c

I could maybe do it if I really went out of my way. I just recently left there but i'm already like two towns down.
I'm also offline right now and I was waiting for my friend to get on before I moved as we both logged at the same spot.

I have an m16a2 m203 and like 8 mags with 2 HE grenades. I'm good on weapons. I've got 2 blood bags. But the trip man.. the trip. Sigh.. did you add me on skype ever?

currently have 8 STANAG mags, 7 AK mags, an AK-74 Kobra, revolver w/ plenty of ammo, ALICE pack, meds, everything i need. killed 2 people in the cherno grocery, the first one got a few axe hits in but I'm ok. Second one was trying to pick up an ALICE and I just fired a burst and he was down.
