DAY Z MEGATHREAD - OP finally gets this mod.

Ive been playing ArmA 2 for a while. I'll probably buy AO and check this out.

So I had just started on a game (day! finally!) and started to run around. My spawn said "airport" so I looked around and when I found it I went there. Along the way, I met some other guy but just walked by since he didn't shoot me. Neither of us said anything but we pretty much teamed up there and went to loot the airport. I nabbed an AK-47 + a mag and we found 4 soldier zombies and killed all of them with no injury. I was in a hangar and crashed.

I come back and the dude isn't there so I walk over to a building and start looting the stuff, I found a belt for a machine gun but didn't take it. Then I hear the "THUMP THUMP THUMP" of running and walk outside to see someone else there, with an AK-47 on his back like me. We sat and looked at each other for a second...

...Then he shot me in the face. I had no idea how to respawn (Someone tell me please) so I just quit and rejoined. I run back there and enter from a different place, the hole in the fence next to the hangar and air control tower. I walk through it and find the same guy crouched against the hangar, looking at the tower's top. I stand near the door and yell "FRIENDLY!" and he looks at me for a second... And shoots again. I ran this time and unloaded my entire Makarov mag into him while he fires blindly with his AK-47, hitting me twice and causing me to bleed. I killed him, though.

Then I get shot at from the air control tower, whoever was in there had barb wired up the door and killed me after I finished off the other guy. I had to go so I just left and didn't respawn.

Welp I officially give up on this piece of stuff mod.

I find uber elite gear once again, supressed M9, M16, grenades, etc. etc.

I'm rummaging through the NW airfield barracks when a friend spawns right in front of me inside of it.

He was a bandit so I shot him 15 times with a whole clip of M9 point blank and he didn't even flinch. What is there some bullstuff spawn protection? He shoots 1 burst of M16 at me and I die whilst i'm reloading.

You could try to avoid people entirely. You are bound to die eventually. Just respawn and start over and avoid the super big towns.

also you now know the reason i hate dayz with a passion, it's handicapped and not even fun losing hours of work.

would much rather play any other mod on arma 2

I've done everything right, I got all the files, the folders, and i did the thing for the steam launch options and it says DayZ on the upper right hand corner but it wont loving work
Whenever i join a server i go to that screen that shows the teams or whatever, it hit ok then (most of the time) it loads to like 7/8 of the bar and stops. then it sits there for awhile and it goes to the other screen where it shows the environment or the tank base and the loading bar at the bottom and it stops and automatically sends me back to the server menu.
I have tried redoing everything like 5 times and still nothing
And I am launching combined operations

can someone try and help me

i tried making a new character to see if that would do anything
welp i joined and as usual i hit okay and it receives the mission goes to the tank screen for a sec and back to the role menu and load to around 9/10 of the screen and stops but i hear someones mic
then it sends me back to the server menu.

Try reinstalling battleye. If that doesn't work reinstall both games, it's what I had to do.

Just got ArmA II installed, and waiting on Op. Arrowhead.

Got ArmA  2, played it for a while, went to download this, and found out you need Op. Arrowhead for it.
I was pissed, but I got Op. Arrowhead.

Now, I am eagerly waiting for Op. Arrowhead to download.

Operation Arrowhead adds so much new content, I'd highly recommend it over the original ArmA II, if you had to decide between the two. Although being able to use OA content in Chenarus is totally worth the 20 bucks.

If you're planning on getting Arma 2 you may as well get Combined Operations.
