Author Topic: My laptop won't turn on. Help?  (Read 1252 times)

So Ive had this Sony Vaio for around 4 months now and everything had been running fine, until now. Everything went as it usually does, around 10PM I turn it off, and when I get home from school I turn it on. As far as im aware, nothing ha touched it and it's been laying by my window all day.
I'm not exactly sure what to do, as I'm no computer expert. Any help is greatly apreciated!

By the window in the sun?

Put the battery back in.

Thr blinds are closed.
someone opened them for a while while you were gone?

Maybe.
It doesn't feel hot, though.
I think im gonna find a screwdriver and make sure everything is okay on the inside.

sunlight from a window wouldnt heat a computer, much less a computer that isnt even on, hot enough to damage.

i would remove the battery and have it plugged in. see if it turns on without a battery (and while plugged in)
a bad battery might not allow it, or if the little latch for the battery isnt clicked, the comp wont come on.

I've tried that already :c

is there a little charge light when the power cord is plugged in?
even with my vaio turned off, i see the light when its plugged in

Yeah. When I press the power button all of the lights turn on, just the screen and the actual computer won't turn on.

sounds like you have internal hardware damage of sorts

do you have any rowdy or violent siblings that could have dropped it or something while you were away?
