Author Topic: I hate customer service.  (Read 1760 times)

So earlier on, this laptop's battery finally got destroyed, but it's still on warranty.

I dont know why the battery failed, but it seems that it's too damaged to let my computer run without being plugged in. I think the cells burned out.

But anyways, i went online with dell customer service, like i would get any help there.

Pretty much, they lead me into a large circle, telling me to repeat what i had done earlier about even seeing if the battery failed. Of course it did, why would i be here?

And so after 30 minutes of personal information and running around in circles, the guy finally decides to put me on the phone and check the bios.

He calls me, and what i hear, i was expecting all along, an indian man who can hardly even speak english, with such a horribly noisy background. I end up just hanging up after he says hello because i didnt feel like dealing with it.

So what do i do? Buy another $400 battery, which is more than the laptop's cost itself, or argue for the warranty claim which lasts only another 2 months?

You buy a non <$400 laptop.
You can't expect top notch service with that price.

"Also, sir, have you heard about our Premium Plus full service call package?"

You buy a laptop.
You can't expect top notch service with that.

my laptop is long past it's warranty, but a new battery would cost me like 60 bucks lol

Hey america, look! These are the people that our american companies decide to hire rather than actual americans! Gee, that sure creates jobs!

Don't even start talking about things you know nothing about.

I know plenty about it, lol what's got you so pissed anyway?

It honestly is sad that american companies, such as Microsoft, would hire a bunch of random people from india for their tech support, when they can barely speak english, and you can't even pronounce their name most of the time. We could be giving those jobs to our own citizens. They should belong to us. And unfortunately the only reason they are hiring those foreign people to do the jobs we could be doing is because they will agree to being paid hardly nothing.

If the battery costs more than the laptop, why not just buy a new laptop?

But we DO give jobs to our own citizens. And most of the time when an Indian guy has the job, he is a registered CITIZEN in the states. The only time he shouldn't have the job is if he's an illegal immigrant.

Ok then. So, is outsourcing a good thing or bad thing...?

Why would a laptop battery cost 400? You could go on ebay and buy one for $5 (Don't.)

Bad because no jobs for Americans.

Dell's customer service is silly.

I remember once a guy insisted on doing a remote desktop thing, he said he was going to uninstall my graphics drivers to see if it'd solve a problem (i don't see why i couldn't do that myself) and he ended up uninstalling my network driver instead.

Derp.
