Yes it would.

I also have a mod which both allows planting bricks in mid-air as well as a method to deal with spammers, but I never released it because I wanted to make baseplates not be affected by chainkilling as well as figure out a way to call an onPlant equivalent on the floating bricks so it wouldn't break JVS and water bricks.

I don't like using zonebricks because you can't duplicate anything
I just use invisible bricks that can't collide with players or projectiles occasionally because I'm not a lazy monday

If I wanted floating bricks, I'd use the Swiss Army Gun's Delete Mode.
