Author Topic: Why does Blockland use less RAM then Minecraft?  (Read 2090 times)

Don't forget that the Minecraft terrain is just like if we used just as many bricks in Blockland.

Yes it is.

Allow me to modify his sentence a bit to show you why you're wrong.

Because Minecraft is a poorly coded, un-optimized, CPU hog. There's generally a small amount loaded into the memory, but your CPU is being raped with terrain generation and it is also being raped by other things such as other unnecessary bullstuff.

Because when it comes to power conservation and ram usage, Notch did a shoddy job

If you want minecraft to run faster, try this

wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong

Does minecraft even hide the sides of blocks you aren't looking at?

this is about why Blockland runs better than Minecraft, not worse
so the more ram a program uses the stufftier it is?

i would LOVE if every game i ran would use at least a minimum of 4g of memory.
if anything, blockland should allow more. it seems like a roadblock.

No, this is why it's inefficient as hell, especially video wise. If it was made in a semi-decent engine, even crap Intel GMAs would get at least 40FPS constantly.

No, that's why X-ray mods dont rape your computer.

...because those actually render certain blocks only? I don't get what you're saying.

Because minecraft is stuffty and laggy and Blockland isn't. Also, minecraft uses voxels which are harder to render than pixels.
