Any chance you were inspired by FTL? That was my first thought when I saw this.

General Question: Is photoshop worth the pain to do pixel art, I try it and it's a hasle. Anything easier to use other than paint.net? I heard gimp was okay.

I personally used Gimp to make the animated Pixel-Art steam Loco in my Sig.
It's easy after you get the handle of things.
I use another program,Which I forgot the name of,To animate it.

Just animated my first engine with GIMP,And it loving sucked. It was cluncky af. I do want your critism on it though. It's supposed to be a Pennsylvania Railroad K4 4-6-2 Pacific.
