On a related subject: Does anyone have an idea of how to do background layers for platformers?

Colliding tiles > Interactive tiles > Non-colliding tiles > Background layer 1 (moving-with-player-detail eg tree canopy, buildings) > Background layer 2 (optional, slow-moving-with-player-detail eg far away mountains) > Sky

Watch the background here to see what I mean

i have no idea what that is but it looks pretty cool

Hurrr

How would I make animated GIFs?

Do I need a plugin for paint.net or something? I already have a spritesheet, I want to convert that to an animation?
If possible, I don't really want to download any software.

There are no .gif plugins for paint.net (or at least ones that have working download links).
There are for .agif and .apng, and gimp supports .gif making, but paint.net will not have .gif support until somebody can make one that works with the current version and has a working dl link.

Read again... I have a spritesheet, and I want to convert that.
Turning every frame in my spritesheet into an individual image for that is tedious.
