i redid my old pixelblockies avatar about a week ago
i also did tried doing pixel art based on the rainbow backdrop in the xbox 360 avatar editor

though i cheated a bit by using the pixelate/rescaling/whatever tool :( (just on the right side, the left is unaffected)

if anyone can do better, here is the original
