Author Topic: [REQUEST] Please stop suggesting Blockland on new engines/consoles  (Read 4797 times)

I completely agree.

We? And stop acting like you know what you are talking about.
He more than likely knows more about the game than you.

Yes we. We as in everyone but you and those who want to move Blockland to a new engine.

He does know what he's talking about. If you're going to make a retort to a post as big as that, at least make it more than one line. No one is going to take you serious if your one and only point is "you don't know what your talking about". And you never even backed that one point up.

He does know what he's talking about.
I'm not sure if I'm remembering right, but doesn't Brian make add-ons?

yep

yep
That's what I thought, just making sure.

no you're thinking about Breeman Smoth
wowe i have bad memory

Thank you Brian.
Blockland is not going to move to Steam, or XBOX, or PS3, or anything.
Blockland was made for the Torque engine, if you really want to play it on Steam, download the Blockland models on Garry's Mod.

Blockland is not going to move to Steam

Well actually I don't know how out of the question that is in the sense that moving to a different engine or console requires almost a complete rewrite of the game.  Steam is just distribution platform.  Do you think Terraria would have sold millions of copies if it had not been released on steam and was only available on some unknown website with minimal advertising?

Thank you Brian.

Now here's someone who really doesn't know what they're talking about.

Steam is just a fancy launcher with friends, voice chat, and a store. It would be easy to put Blockland on Steam without changing Blockland itself. Whereas a new engine would require heavy modification and wouldn't exactly fit what Blockland needs anyways. Torque is perfect. How many bricks can you support on a low end computer? How many objects could you support on a source engine game on the same computer?

As for the consoles, TGE already exists for them, but add-ons and authentication would be a huge issue.

Sorry, I didn't type it correctly. I meant that it will most likely not moving to Steam. I typed that it wasn't possible.

WE DON'T WANT BLOCKLAND TO LOOK NICE

WE DON'T WANT BLOCKLAND TO LOOK NICE
it looks good as it is now.

If you mean visual quality akin to the N64, then I don't even.

what i mean is that it'd be more of a pain in the ass than rape to make it look any better.
plus, N64 graphics were low-poly models too, but they had .jpeg textures that made it look worse.
hell, alot of things in games are low-poly, but it's the texture and the lack of attention.
