Author Topic: Gamestop aparently selling steam wallet cards  (Read 2559 times)

knowing valve, watch them put it on sale

50% off $50 steam card
i would buy 10, then return them.

lol'd. i hope gamestop fails because of this. anyone who can use a computer to play games and hasn't discovered steam will, meaning less games being sold by gamestop. that also means after sale 1 people will realize they don't have to go to gamestop to fill their wallet.
isn't this kinda counter-intuitive?

it's like mcdonalds selling a whopper.

Do you guys not understand the logic here?  There are multiple instances where I've seen kids on here complain about how they can't buy stuff on Steam because they have no credit/debit account to use to buy online, and how they only have cash.

This allows people to easily buy stuff on Steam with CASH.  AKA, Federal reserve notes.  AKA, non-electronic money.

Wait wtf maybe this is what everybody has been trying to say, but Gamestop gets money from the cards, so the money spent on cards will benefit Gamestop just as much as Valve.

Its more targeted at kids that steal money from their parents wallet.

yes, but aren't Gamestop and Steam like, direct competition?

kid >HEY DAD CNA BROW SUM MUNY TO BUY STUF ON STEAM?
 as compared to
kid > HEY DAD CNU TKE ME TO DE GAMSTOP AN BUY ME A GEM CRAD FOR STEAM?

it's still counter intuitive because these people are lazy, and they will eventually get credit. it's the microsoft point principle, once you realize you can just buy dlc with microsoft points you throw the idea of dlc cards out of the window.

i can't tell you how many times my mom won't pay for things on the internet because of fear her credit card number will get hacked. this is pretty much to combat said thing

i just think it's silly because Gamestop is promoting their direct competition.

your mom is stupid, my dad knows how to go "CREDIT CARD, DELETE EVERYTHING. ROLL BACK THOSE PURCHASES, THIS CARD IS COMPROMISED!"

what are you even saying

you sound like an enraged child- stop pounding the caps lock key so much and actually convey what you're saying.

imagine my dad is actually screaming this at the credit card company like a captain would to the crew of a sinking ship.

your mom is stupid because she's worried about reputable sites stealing card info when any unusual purchases are noted by the card company. if you suspect your card is stolen you can simply freeze it and see what the hell is going on.

i'm not trying to make the argument my mom is stupid, i'm saying there's plenty of people who would want a proxy purchasing system instead of going through their mom or dad.
