we never said we wanted a study of it. you came to the forums expecting everyone to agree with you, and when most people didn't you started getting mad. marching band has physical exertion, but as i've said before it doesn't involve physical skill.

Are you saying carrying an instrument and playing it, while moving in a certain way doesn't involve physical skill?

yes, i am saying that playing an interment while walking does not involve physical skill. it involves musical skill. also, i am not counting the ability to blow, move your fingers, or walk to be physical skills, as those can be done with anyone who has fingers, lungs, or legs and is not handicapped.

BUT. It does take a pretty handicapped person to voluntarily receive a concussion from being hit by a 300 pound black guy.

Football player don't play football to receive concussions, just like people who fight wars don't (with some exceptions) fight them to die.

HA! saying marching is a sport is like saying theres no girls in the internet

yes, and this is why you try to avoid the heavy black guy, the same way you avoid getting a baseball to the face or you avoid slamming your jaw while slam dunking. you don't voluntarily do these things, they happen because of carelessness or the inability to avoid them.

So yes, Band is a sport, and so are video games, and chess, and anything else done for fun.

I think its more like cheerleading. Its physically demanding and all that jazz but its not really a sport compared to stuff like football.  IMO it's more of a mix between a competitive sport and a performance, as there's organized competitions.

competitive performance that's physically demanding

let's leave it at that

So yes, Band is a sport, and so are video games, and chess, and anything else done for fun.

"loveual play c"

Wanna play some sports~

>people still say walking instead of marching.

Your marching bands just suck since they only walk.

So yes, Band is a sport, and so are video games, and chess, and anything else done for fun.
that word is the old term for sport, the way people say they do something for the sport of it. it's like the word pleasure.

IE: i had love with her for the sport of it. you're a good sport.

it's also a lose pronoun, as used in "good job, sport!"

>people still say walking instead of marching.

well i mean
marching is just walking with more purpose, its not like its some fancy form of jogging
